Open Minds new Acting CEO

We recently said farewell to our CEO, Simon James, who after two years of service has left Open Minds for pastures new. One of our existing leaders, Dr Peter Anderson, is taking on the role of Acting CEO while the Board sources a replacement.

With Simon James stepping down as CEO of Open Minds, Acting in the CEO role while the Board recruit a suitable replacement is Dr Peter Anderson, our current General Manager Service Development and Quality (GMSDQ).

Whilst Peter is Acting CEO, the rest of the Executive team will assist Peter with his usual role of GMSDQ.

During Simon’s time with Open Minds, his leadership resulted in significant improvements in many areas of the business such as: employee engagement, financial performance and streamlined business operations. 

Dr Anderson intends to build on this legacy and continue to lead Open Minds in providing outstanding support to clients and deliver against our purpose.

Dr Anderson has been in senior management roles with Cancer Council QueenslandHeart Foundation and Diabetes Queensland and as CEO led two Asthma Foundations through mergers.

He has also had leadership roles in the Public Health Association of Australia as state president and National Board member and is a Fellow of the Association in recognition of more than 20 years of service to the public health profession.
