    The Family and Friends Support Program is a free, psychosocial service focused on providing support to people caring for an individual (or individuals) who have experienced a suicidal crisis and/or suicide attempt.

    The Family and Friends Support Program is focused on providing support to people caring for an someone who has experienced a suicidal crisis and/or suicide attempt.

    We will contact you within 24 business hours of your self-referral to connect you with qualified health professionals, who will determine the service duration which can be up to 12 months.

    • What supports are provided?

      The program may include face to face and/or telephone supports such as:
      • Peer connection
      • Information and practical resources
      • Proactive follow-up
      • Service navigation and advocacy
      • Structured educational workshops
      • Peer-led support groups
      • Carer-inclusive places and spaces.

    • Who is eligible?

      To be eligible, a family member, friend or significant other carer must be:
      • 18 years and above
      • Reside in the Country to Coast Primary Health Network (PHN) region – Sunshine Coast, Wide Bay and Central Queensland
      • Supporting an individual who has experienced a suicidal crisis and/or suicide attempt.

      • Carer self-referral
      • General practitioners (GPs)
      • Community organisations
      • Hospital and Health Services (HHS)
