New headspace partnership
improves sexual and reproductive health services
headspace has partnered with True Relationships & Reproductive Health (TRUE) to provide sexual and reproductive health services in the Redcliffe area.
headspace Redcliffe, operated by Open Minds, now hosts a Sexual and Reproductive Health Clinician from TRUE on the second Thursday of each month, providing advice on contraception, period pain, sexually transmitted infections and more.
headspace Operations Manager, Nick Martin said he was pleased to see the delivery of such an important service in Redcliffe.
“Our partnership with TRUE has been tremendously successful and highlights the incredible outcomes that can be achieved when community organisations work together,” said Nick.
He also described the partnership as mutually beneficial, allowing TRUE to provide education and counselling in a new area, and headspace to offer a service it does not specialise in.
“The service offered by TRUE is an important one, and we at headspace Redcliffe are proud to support its delivery in the Redcliffe region, achieving great outcomes for the community.”
Appointments with a TRUE Sexual and Reproductive Health Clinician can be accessed by current headspace Redcliffe clients and there are no out of pocket fees.
headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation, providing early intervention mental health services for people aged 12 – 25.
Open Minds operates three headspace centres in Brisbane – Redcliffe, Strathpine and Indooroopilly.
TRUE was established in 1972 as Family Planning Queensland, with aims to improve reproductive and sexual health and promote safe, respectful relationships.
