Dolphins kicking goals
for headspace
It might have been the NRL Dolphins and the Warriors going head-to-head on field, but it was headspace that came out the winner.
As the charity partner for the Redcliffe Dolphins’ final game for the 2023 season at Suncorp Stadium, headspace Open Minds service raised almost $16,000 and walked away with half of the money raised.
headspace Operations Manager, Nick Martin said the money would go towards providing vital mental health support to young people in the Redcliffe area.
“We are so grateful to have been chosen as charity partner, to not only receive the proceeds from the raffle but to have the opportunity to raise awareness of mental health,” Nick said.
“So many young people are struggling with their mental health and so making sure they know headspace is here to help, can make a huge difference in someone’s life.”
Nick joined Open Minds Chief Executive Officer Kate Johnson and the team from headspace and Open Minds, including staff, clients and volunteers, to sell raffle tickets at the game.
“A huge shout out to the Dolphins for their support,” Kate said. “The more we get the word out there about mental health, the more people we can support.”
Throughout the season, the Dolphins conduct a 50 50 charity raffle at each game, where 50% of the proceeds go the winner of the raffle and 50% go to a chosen charity.
Open Minds has partnered with headspace for nearly 10 years, operating three headspace centres in Redcliffe, Strathpine and Indooroopilly. Follow headspace on socials to see what else they have been up to.
