The gift of giving this Christmas

Christmas has come early to clients of Open Minds’ Redcliffe Hub.

Six clients were given a laptop computer thanks to GIVIT, a not-for-profit organisation helping generous Australians to support those in need.

Open Minds North Region Care Leader Emily Vohland was contacted by GIVIT offering the refurbished government laptops to clients.

“We put a call out to clients from our Redcliffe Hub for expressions of interest and all six laptops have been given to clients for various activities such as studying at university, short courses online, engaging in their online social networks and to enhance literacy skills,” Emily said.

Emily said the donated laptops have made a significant impact to the recovery and wellbeing of our clients.

“It’s heart-warming to know there are services out there that are so interested in helping others, that they are seeking members of the community who may be in need,” she said.

“All of our clients were so grateful, and I know it will make a big difference in their lives. Thank you, GIVIT, for the wonderful work you do.”
