Now having more than 400 staff across Queensland, Northern New South Wales and Victoria, we’re making our services available to more people than ever.

Our team is committed to providing support services to people living with mental illness, disability or acquired brain injury. To ensure we’re helping as many people as possible, we work closely with healthcare professionals, the NDIS and the Australian Government to deliver leading mental health support services.

We understand that everyone has unique needs and support requirements, so we take a personalised approach to our mental health services. Whether you are living with a disability, experiencing anxiety, or seeking support through the NDIS, we work with you to tailor the services that will be most beneficial to you.

We are always focused on your wellbeing, and our amazing team is there to support you every step of the way.

As part of our commitment to helping everyone achieve their full potential, we will also work with your family, carers, informal support networks and other people in your life. By combining their help and our mental health support services, we can help you make a real difference to your wellbeing.

Youth Mental Health Support Services

Did you know that more than 75% of mental health issues develop before the age of 25? Looking after the mental health of young people is incredibly important to the Open Minds team.

We provide mental health support services to young people who are going through a tough time. With support from our professionals, we strive to help young people navigate difficult situations, strengthen their mental health and get their life back on track.

Open Minds supports young people across Brisbane through our headspace centres in Redcliffe, Taringa and Strathpine.

The headspace initiative makes mental health support services more affordable and available to young people.

We’re proud to be a part of the program that makes mental health services more accessible for young adults.

NDIS Support for Mental Health

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) has made it easier than ever to access support for mental health!

Under the NDIS, people living with disability can receive funding to pay for services, carers and a wide variety of supports.

The best part is that the NDIS is also available to those living with mental illness, developmental issues, acquired injuries and beyond.

Because NDIS funding is based on your needs rather than your diagnosis, it’s possible to receive funding for a vast range of mental health support services.

Open Minds is a registered NDIS provider. We work closely with our clients and the NDIA to provide leading support services for mental health issues.

Through the NDIS, we aim to deliver support that improves the lives of people with mental illness, disability, asperger’s, PTSD and autism.

NDIS funding for mental health support is all about giving you the freedom to achieve your goals and reach your full potential.

Whatever you’re envisioning for your life, Open Minds has mental health support services that can help you get there.

Access the Community with Our Support and Mental Health Services

Being active in your community, making friends and enjoying everything life has to offer is a major step towards positive mental health. As part of our support and mental health services, Open Minds can work with you to help you access the community around you.

Whether you’re looking to spend time with friends, enjoy your hobbies or simply relax, we’ll help you enjoy where you live. Our mental health support services can help you access your community by:

  • Working with you to identify your goals
  • Identifying barriers to joining in with your community
  • Help you manage your personal barriers
  • Access community groups and recreational activities you’re interested in

Accessing your community is a fantastic way to work towards more positive mental health. Not only do you get to enjoy the activities and friends around you, being out in the community is a great confidence booster.

Whatever goals you’re looking to achieve, Open Minds can work with you to identify how your local community can help. We’ll work alongside you, your family, carers and other supporters to help you participate in activities that help you grow and enjoy more positive mental health outcomes.

Our Partnerships

The Open Minds Community Re-Entry Service Team (CREST) works in partnership with the Queensland Correctional Service within the Correctional Centre, Probation and Parole office in Townsville. We support men and women on parole to help make re-entry into the community a success, and to find stable accommodation.

headspace supports young people who are going through a tough time. If you are aged 12-25 and you need someone to talk to, headspace will provide you with access to health advice, education and employment. Open Minds is the lead agency for headspace in both Redcliffe and Taringa.

Open Minds works in partnership with the Central Queensland, Wide Bay, Sunshine Coast PHN to provide Coastal Supports, a program for people living with severe mental illness who are ineligible for NDIS funding, living on the Sunshine Coast and in Gympie. This program is funded by the Central Queensland, Wide Bay & Sunshine Coast PHN.

Healthy North Coast is an independent, not-for-profit organisation proudly delivering the PHN program in North Coast NSW. Committed to improving the health of our communities through quality primary health care.
