Open Minds is delighted that our Redcliffe and Strathpine headspace centres were named the official charity partners of the inaugural Moreton Bay PrideFest at its launch on Friday, 3 February.
This means that for every PrideFest ticket sold, $5 will be pooled towards a donation that will be divided among three headspace centres, including headspace Caboolture, to help continue their great work supporting young members of the LGBTIQAP+ community.
Our 10 headspace staff who attended the launch event were grateful for the opportunity to promote awareness that more than 30% of young people presenting to their centres in the region identify as LGBTIQAP+.

headspace supports young people with mental health, physical health (including sexual health), alcohol and other drug services, as well as work and study support. With a focus on early intervention, they work with young people to provide support at a crucial time in their lives – to help get them back on track and strengthen their ability to manage their mental health in the future.

Moreton Bay Pridefest will be held on Saturday, 10 June 2023 (during World Pride Month) at Pine Rivers Park, Strathpine as a celebration to make Moreton Bay a happier, healthier, safer, and more culturally rich and diverse place for the LGBTIQAP+ community. Tickets can be purchased here.
