Open Minds is delighted to share the NDIS easy read documents, to help people living with mental illnesses, acquired brain injury, and intellectual disabilities to understand information in an easy to read way.

Welcome to NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission – Easy Read

Quality is about receiving good services. Safeguards are ways of keeping people safe when they are receiving services. The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (the NDIS Commission) is a new part of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

About the NDIS Commission – Easy Read

This document explains what the NDIS Commission is. NDIS participants have the right to be given good quality services, and to be safe. The NDIS Commission will help participants, families and carers who feel unsafe, or unhappy with their services.

Why we need an NDIS Commission – Easy Read

The NDIS is changing the way people with disability in Australia get support. The NDIS Commission is to help NDIS participants receive good quality services, and to keep NDIS participants safe.

NDIS Participants – Easy Read

The NDIS Commission wants to make things better for NDIS participants. The NDIS Commission wants to: protect your rights, help other people know and understand your rights, help you receive good quality services, keep NDIS participants safe.

NDIS Providers – Easy Read

It is the job of the NDIS Commission to help NDIS participants receive good quality services, and keep NDIS participants safe. The NDIS Commission also make sure the rules are the same across Australia. The new rules replace the rules that states and territories have used in the past.
